تَذَكُّريmy remembrance لِلبِلىof decay فيin قَعرِthe depths مُظلمَةٍa dark place
تَذَكُّري لِلبِلى في قَعرِ مُظلمَةٍ
أَصارَنيhas made me زاهِداًdetached فيfrom المالwealth وَالرُتبِand ranks
أَصارَني زاهِداً في المال وَالرُتبِ
My remembrance of decay in the depths of a dark grave
My remembrance of decay in the depths of a dark pit
Remembering impermanence in the depths of darkness
has made me indifferent to wealth and rank.
Has made me detached from wealth and rank.
Has made me turn my back on wealth and rank.
إِنيindeed I أُسَرُّI rejoice بِحالٍin a state سَوفَshall أُسلبهاI am stripped of it
إِني أُسَرُّ بِحالٍ سَوفَ أُسلبها
عَمّاin قَريبٍa short time وَأَبقىand I remain رِمّةَa mouldering corpse التُربِthe dust
عَمّا قَريبٍ وَأَبقى رِمّةَ التُربِ
Indeed, I delight in a state of which I shall be stripped
Indeed, I rejoice in a state I shall be stripped of
I take delight in a state I know will be taken
before long, and remain as decayed remains in the earth.
Before long, and be left a mouldering corpse in the dust.
From me before long, and I'll be left as dust of the grave.
