لَئِنif indeed ظَهَرتappeared فيin مُقلةِthe eye of الحبthe beloved حُمرَةٌredness
لَئِن ظَهَرت في مُقلةِ الحب حُمرَةٌ
فَماthen not ذاكَthat داءٌan illness يُختشىis feared مِنon account of بَقائِهِits persistence
فَما ذاكَ داءٌ يُختشى مِن بَقائِهِ
If indeed redness appears in the beloved’s eye,
If redness appears in the eye of love,
that is no illness whose persistence need be feared.
It is no disease to be feared for its continuance.
وَلَكِنَّهاbut it is سَيفٌa sword أَصابَتstruck ادَاunclear as written الهَوىpassion
وَلَكِنَّها سَيفٌ أَصابَت ادَا الهَوى
فَطارَand so flew رَشاشٌa spray نَحوَهاtoward it مِنfrom دِمائِهِhis blood
فَطارَ رَشاشٌ نَحوَها مِن دِمائِهِ
Rather, it is a sword that struck [unclear word] of passion,
Rather it is a sword that struck the instruments of passion,
and a spray of his blood flew toward it.
And droplets flew towards it from its blood.
