شمسُ حُسنٍ قد أطلَعَت

شمسُ حُسنٍ قد أطلَعَت

قمراً لاحَ في الفَلَك

قمراً لاحَ في الفَلَك

A sun of beauty has brought forth

A moon that shone in the firmament.

ليسَ للأُنسِ ينتمي

ليسَ للأُنسِ ينتمي

بل له صورةُ المَلَك

بل له صورةُ المَلَك

He does not belong to humankind;

Rather, he has the form of an angel.

ما ترى نورَ وجههِ

ما ترى نورَ وجههِ

ساطِعاً قد جَلا الحَلَك

ساطِعاً قد جَلا الحَلَك

Do you not see the light of his face,

Shining, having dispelled the darkness?

كلُّ قلبٍ لحُسنِهِ

كلُّ قلبٍ لحُسنِهِ

في هواه قد انسَلَك

في هواه قد انسَلَك

Every heart, for his beauty,

Has become entwined in love for him.

مَلَك الناسَ كُلَّهُم

مَلَك الناسَ كُلَّهُم

وسبا قلبَ من مَلَك

وسبا قلبَ من مَلَك

He has won dominion over all people,

And taken captive the heart of every ruler.

وأبُوه هوَ الذي

وأبُوه هوَ الذي

طُرُقَ الخيرِ قد سَلَك

طُرُقَ الخيرِ قد سَلَك

And his father is the one who

Has trodden the paths of goodness.

يا فريداً محمدٌ

يا فريداً محمدٌ

مشبِهٌ في الجمالِ لَك

مشبِهٌ في الجمالِ لَك

O peerless one, Muhammad

Resembles you in beauty.

دلِّلَنهُ وكُن لهُ

دلِّلَنهُ وكُن لهُ

مثلَ من كانَ دَلَّلَك

مثلَ من كانَ دَلَّلَك

Do pamper him, and be to him

Like the one who once pampered you.

واحفِظَنهُ ورَبِّه

واحفِظَنهُ ورَبِّه

فهوَ بالشِّبهِ جَمَّلَك

فهوَ بالشِّبهِ جَمَّلَك

And protect him well, and raise him,

For he has adorned you by resembling you.
