مَغيبُك في الأُسبوعِ يَومين عَن شَجٍ

مَغيبُك في الأُسبوعِ يَومين عَن شَجٍ

وَيَومين بُعدٌ قاتِلٌ لِلشَجي الصَبِّ

وَيَومين بُعدٌ قاتِلٌ لِلشَجي الصَبِّ

Your absence for two days each week from a sorrowing lover—

Your absence from one in sorrow for two days each week,

and two days’ separation is deadly to the lovesick youth.

And two days more, is a separation fatal to the sorrowful, lovesick lover.

وَهَبكَ بِقَلبي حاضِراً فَلِمُقلَتي

وَهَبكَ بِقَلبي حاضِراً فَلِمُقلَتي

بِرُؤيَتِكَ الأنسُ المريحُ مِن الكَربِ

بِرُؤيَتِكَ الأنسُ المريحُ مِن الكَربِ

Suppose you are present within my heart: still, for my eye,

And even granting that you are present in my heart, my eye

the sight of you is solace, bringing relief from anguish.

Finds in seeing you the solace that relieves distress.

وِمِن نورِكَ الوَهّاجِ تَسري أَشعَّةٌ

وِمِن نورِكَ الوَهّاجِ تَسري أَشعَّةٌ

لِعَيني فَيَسري النور مِنها إِلى قَلبي

لِعَيني فَيَسري النور مِنها إِلى قَلبي

And from your blazing light, rays stream

And from your blazing light, rays flow

into my eye, and from it the light flows into my heart.

To my eye; then the light flows from it into my heart.
