For a time, a pitch-black raven was over me;

Roaming crow, fate took your flight

Then foreordained fate sent it flying away;

And turned your nest to the chattering

وصار على وكره عقعق

من البُلقِ ذو شيبةٍ ناعُقُ

من البُلقِ ذو شيبةٍ ناعُقُ

And upon its nest came a magpie,

Of a speckled, gray-feathered chick

One of the pied birds, gray-haired and cawing.
