كفى بالنأي من أسماءَ كافٍ

كفى بالنأي من أسماءَ كافٍ

وليس لحبها إذ طال شاف

وليس لحبها إذ طال شاف

Distance from Asmāʾ is enough—more than enough;

Separation from Asma is quite enough;

Enough with estrangement from her alluring names

And when love of her has lingered long, no cure avails.

Yet there is no healer for love of her, so long endured.

And my love for her is no cure, though long aloof
