مَن كانَ أَنفَقَ في نَصرِ الهُدى نَشبا

مَن كانَ أَنفَقَ في نَصرِ الهُدى نَشبا

فَأَنتَ أَنفَقتَ فيهِ النَفسَ وَالنَشبا

فَأَنتَ أَنفَقتَ فيهِ النَفسَ وَالنَشبا

Whoever has spent his wealth to secure the triumph of right guidance,

If anyone has spent wealth in support of right guidance,

you have spent in its cause both life and wealth.

You have spent both your life and wealth in its cause.

يُذكي أَخوكَ شِهابَ الحَربِ مُعتَمِداً

يُذكي أَخوكَ شِهابَ الحَربِ مُعتَمِداً

فَيَستَضيءُ وَيَغشى جَدُّكَ اللَهَبا

فَيَستَضيءُ وَيَغشى جَدُّكَ اللَهَبا

Resolutely, your brother kindles war’s meteor-fire,

Your brother deliberately kindles war’s firebrand;

so it blazes bright, while your fortune braves the flames.

He draws light from it, while your good fortune braves the flame.
