Time has two days: one of steadiness, the other of stumbling.

And life has two tastes: one bitter sap, the other honey.

Such is time: no arrogance in good fortune

For those who understand, nor weakness in adversity.

    وَالعَدلُ أَن يَتَساوى الهَمُّ وَالجَدَلُ

    A person's happiness lies in prosperity, if it prevails;

And balance is for worry and contention to be equal.

And worries do not last, even if you fear them,

Nor does joy endure, even if you hope for it.

So why grieve over worries that do not last?

And why rejoice in a blessing that will pass away?

Yet among people is one deluded by his good fortune:

Despair never came to him until death came to him.
