إِنَّindeed قَلباًa heart يُطيقُcan endure ذاthis لَصَبورُtruly steadfast
Love-stricken, tormented, wounded, captive.
A tortured, wounded, captive lover am I
Indeed, a heart that can endure this is truly steadfast.
Indeed a heart can endure this if patient it be
وَكَثيرٌand many مِنَof الرِجالِthe men حَديدٌiron
وَكَثيرٌand many مِنَof القُلوبِthe hearts صُخورُrocks
And many men are iron,
And many men are made of iron
And many hearts are rocks.
And many hearts are rocks
قُلsay لِمَنto the one who حَلَّsettled بِالشَآمِin al-Sham طَليقاًfree
بِأَبيwith my father as ransom قَلبُكَyour heart الطَليقُthe free الأَسيرُthe captive
Say to him who has settled in al-Sham, at liberty:
Say to the one who left Sham untroubled
May my father be the ransom for your heart—free yet captive.
By my life, yours is the untroubled captive heart
أَناI أَصبَحتُI have become لاnot أُطيقُI can bear حَراكاًany movement

I have become unable to stir;
I've become unable to bear any movement
How have you yourself fared, O Mansur?
How is it you've become so victorious
