صَبَرتُI endured عَلىunder اِختِيارِكَyour free choice وَاِضطِراريand my being compelled
وَقَلَّand diminished مَعَwith الهَوىlove فيكَfor you اِنتِصاريmy self-defense
I endured your free choice and my own constraint.
I was patient with your choice and my coercion
And with love for you, my power to defend myself waned.
And with love for you, my triumph diminished
وَكانَand used to يَعافُdisdain حَملَbearing الضَيمِinjustice قَلبيmy heart
فَقَرَّso settled عَلىon تَحَمُّلِهِenduring it قَراريmy resolve
And my heart once disdained bearing injustice;
My heart once endured the burden of injustice
So my resolve settled on enduring it.
But now it struggles to bear it
فَدَيتُكَmay I be your ransom طالَlasted long ظُلمُكَyour injustice وَاِحتِماليand my endurance
كَماjust as كَثُرَتmultiplied ذُنوبُكَyour sins وَاِغتِفاريand my forgiveness
May I be your ransom! Your injustice and my endurance have lasted long,
I ransomed you, though long has been your tyranny and my endurance
Just as your sins and my acts of forgiveness have multiplied.
Numerous as your sins are, so is my forgiveness
