وَيَومٍand on a day جَلاadorned فيهِon it الرَبيعُspring رِياضَهُits gardens
وَيَومٍ جَلا فيهِ الرَبيعُ رِياضَهُ
بِأَنواعِwith varieties of حَليٍjewelry فَوقَover أَثوابِهِits robes الخُضرِthe green
بِأَنواعِ حَليٍ فَوقَ أَثوابِهِ الخُضرِ
And on a day when spring adorned its gardens
And a day came when spring adorned its gardens
With varied jewels over its green robes,
With all kinds of finery over its green robes
كَأَنَّas though ذُيولَthe fringes of الجُلَّنارِthe pomegranate blossoms مُطِلَّةًpeeping out
كَأَنَّ ذُيولَ الجُلَّنارِ مُطِلَّةً
فُضولُthe projecting ends of ذُيولِthe skirts of الغانِياتِthe beautiful women مِنَfrom الأُزرِthe wraps
فُضولُ ذُيولِ الغانِياتِ مِنَ الأُزرِ
As though the pomegranate blossoms’ fringes, peeping out,
As if the trains of the planets were trailing
Were the projecting ends of fair women’s skirts beyond their wraps.
The trains of the singing maidens' gowns
