متى ألقى الغَواني والعذَارَى

متى ألقى الغَواني والعذَارَى

ملائكةً يُزَحزِحنَ السِّتارا

ملائكةً يُزَحزِحنَ السِّتارا

When shall I meet the beautiful women and maidens,

When will I meet the beautiful maidens

angels drawing back the curtain,

Angels who lift the veil

وهنَّ ذواتُ آدابٍ وعِلمٍ

وهنَّ ذواتُ آدابٍ وعِلمٍ

لهديِ الناسِ يحملنَ الشّعارا

لهديِ الناسِ يحملنَ الشّعارا

possessed of refinement and knowledge,

They are of manners and knowledge

bearing the banner to guide the people?

To guide people, they carry the torch

وفي وطنِ العروبة كلُّ أمٍّ

وفي وطنِ العروبة كلُّ أمٍّ

تُهَذِّبُ صبيةً وتزينُ دارا

تُهَذِّبُ صبيةً وتزينُ دارا

And in the Arab homeland, every mother

And in the homeland of Arabness every mother

nurtures children and adorns a home,

Grooms a boy and adorns a house

وتُبرِزُ للورى رجلاً عظيماً

وتُبرِزُ للورى رجلاً عظيماً

بهِ تختالُ أمتُهُ افتِخارا

بهِ تختالُ أمتُهُ افتِخارا

and brings forth for the world a great man,

And presents to the world a great man

in whom his nation glories with pride.

Through him his nation prides itself with honor
