لاdo not تَطلُبنَّever seek تعطُّفاًtenderness منfrom معطفِa curving flank
ومعand with اللّطيفِthe delicate one منamong الخصورِthe waists تلطَّفِbe gentle
Never seek tenderness from a curving form.
Do not seek pity from a coat,
And with a delicate waist, be gentle.
And be gentle with the lean one from leanness.

كنbe ليِّناًsupple مثليlike me وإلاand otherwise تُقصَفyou will be broken
This is its unspoken language, saying:
This is what it says,
Be supple like me, or you will be broken.
Be soft like me, else you'll be severed.

فيat الزهرِthe dice لكنbut فيin الهوىlove هوit مُضعفيwhat weakens me
Woe to me for the waist, which is doubled
Woe to me from the waist that is weakening,
At dice, yet in love it weakens me.
In appearance but in love it is my strengthener.

And among the wonders is the harmony of two opposites:
Of wonders is the friendship of two opposites,
A slender waist above a lavishly full rump.
A slender waist above a lavish hip.
أفديI would ransom التيher who فيin وجنَتيهاher two cheeks جنةٌa garden
والزهرُand the flowers منهاfrom her لمnot يُشَمَّbe smelled ويُقطَفand be plucked
I would give myself as ransom for her whose cheeks hold a garden,
I sacrifice her whom in her cheeks is a paradise,
And her flowers have never been smelled or plucked.
And whose flower has not been smelled or plucked.

No wonder if her figure gathers every beauty;
No wonder that the gathering of all beauty is her stature,
Indeed, all eloquence is in the Qur'an.
Verily all eloquence is in the Holy Book.
