I would sacrifice myself for التيher who حكتِresembled الصَّباحَthe morning تبَلُّجاin radiance
والطيرَand the birds صَوتاًin voice والمياهَand the waters تموُّجاin rippling
I would give my life for her who mirrored the morning in radiance,
I ransom her who told of the morning's radiance
And the birds in song, and the waters in rippling.
And the birds' song and the rippling water
أخرَجتِshe drew out منfrom شفتيَّmy lips رُوحيmy soul عِندَماwhen
قبَّلتُI kissed ثغراًa mouth فيهِin which يبسمُsmiles ليfor me الرجاhope
She drew my soul from my lips when
She brought my soul out through my lips when
I kissed a mouth in which hope smiles at me.
I kissed a mouth where hope smiles at me
وعلىand upon ذُؤابتِهاher tress نثرتُI scattered مدامِعيmy tears
حيناًfor a while كتنثيرlike the scattering of النجومthe stars علىover الدجىthe dark of night
And upon her tress I scattered my tears
And on her cheeks I scattered my tears
For a while, like scattering stars over the dark of night.
At times like the stars sprinkling the darkness
ورأيتُand I saw قلبيmy heart مثلَlike مهرٍa colt جامحٍunruly
قطعَbroke الشكالَthe hobble محاولاًtrying أنto يخرُجاescape
And I saw my heart like an unruly colt
And I saw my heart like a raging stallion
That broke its hobble, trying to escape.
Breaking through barriers trying to escape
وملأتُand I filled عينيmy eyes منwith محاسنِthe beauties of وجههاher face
وقوامِهاand her figure حيثُwhere العبيرُthe perfume تأرّجاwafted
And I filled my eyes with the beauties of her face
And I filled my eyes with the beauty of her face
And her figure, where perfume wafted.
And her figure where perfume wafts gently
وتساقَطَتand fell قُبَليmy kisses عَليهاupon her مِثلماjust as
وَقَعَfell النَّدىthe dew فوقَupon الثِّمارِthe fruits فأنضَجاand so ripened them
And my kisses fell upon her, just as
And my kisses fell upon her like
Dew fell upon the fruits and so ripened them.
The dew falling on fruit and ripening it
