The light of the bright star has lit up your branches
So you wept from the memory of a beloved companion
And dreams came to you by a lake
As the moon lifts the veil of darkness
The garden mourns like flames of morning
As if it weeps for strangers
I knew you to have the heart of a poet
Its throbs like the poems of poets
So remember the days of youth after one
Who walks with spirits and nobles
O how good is the night talk that has passed
And love fills the earth and the horizons
O how good is the valley whose forests
Love the rustle over the water's murmur
As for me, I have suffered because I
Did not know how to track desires
What does one with misery hope for, one who
Was never counted among the happy
He has from war wounds while others
Play with spoils over carcasses
So cry over a noble, lost friend
Lost in the abyss, once in the desert
He witnessed honor dead in battle
And cried over the noble and the virtuous
