Be generous with union, for love is all-conquering.

How long will your heart flutter in fear?

Time passes swiftly, O lovely one.

Time? No—rather, it is our life that slips away.

How lovely was a garden whose blossoms

Were in your cheeks, and whose fragrances were in your mouth!

In it our tears scattered like your necklace,

And so the wild roses and jujubes scattered.

I gained nothing but a glance or a smile,

Which a lying lover might claim.
