    O lady of beauty, companionable charm, and modest grace,

    Keep me in your care with kindly remembrance and a lasting token.

    You have given my eye and heart what I shall weave into verse:

    your two poems, and mine—goodness itself, O flower among flowers.

    وأنت ريحانةٌ للسمعِ والبصَر

    To you I offer my fragrant blossoms, which have bloomed;

    and you are a fragrant blossom to ear and eye.

    These blossoms, from my soul, are offered

    to her whose spirit is of a breath from the hour before dawn.
