فهيfor she التيthe one who جملتis beautiful ولمand has not تتجمَّلِadorned herself
فهي التي جملت ولم تتجمَّلِ
This lovely one is the beholder’s enchantment.
This lovely woman enchants the beholder.
Beautiful she is, though she has never adorned herself.
For she is beautiful without adorning herself.
إهمالُهاher neglect لجمالِهاof her beauty فيهِin it الهُدىguidance
إهمالُها لجمالِها فيهِ الهُدى
ماnot الصدقُtruth إلاexcept فيin الجمالِbeauty المُهمَلleft unadorned
ما الصدقُ إلا في الجمالِ المُهمَل
In her disregard for her beauty lies the truest way;
In her neglect of her beauty lies guidance.
What is truth? It lies wholly in beauty left unadorned.
Truth lies only in beauty left unadorned.

Tell winter, “Depart!” whenever she appears—
Tell winter, 'Depart without fail when she appears.'
Do you not see the face of approaching spring?
And do you not see the face of approaching spring?

Every loveliness is gathered in one countenance,
All charms have been gathered in a countenance,
Radiant white beneath the blackness of streaming hair.
White beneath the blackness of flowing hair.

Stand, O painter; then take from her face,
Stop, O painter, then take from her face
And from her figure, the portrait of beauty perfected.
And her figure the image of beauty at its most perfect.
