نَحِّsend away عَنكَaway from you الطَّبِيبَthe physician وَاسمَعand listen لِنَعتِيto my prescription
نَحِّ عَنكَ الطَّبِيبَ وَاسمَع لِنَعتِي
إنَّنيindeed I am ناصِحٌa sincere adviser مِنَamong النُّصَّاحِthe sincere advisers
إنَّني ناصِحٌ مِنَ النُّصَّاحِ
Send the physician away and listen to my prescription.
Turn away the doctor and listen to my advice
Indeed, I am a sincere adviser among advisers.

ذوpossessing تَجَارِيبَexperience قَدindeed تَقَلَّبتُI have passed through changing states فيin الصِّحhealth (first part)
ذو تَجَارِيبَ قَد تَقَلَّبتُ في الصِّح
حَةِcompletion of 'health' دَهراًfor ages وفيand in السَقَامِillness المتاحِdestined to befall
حَةِ دَهراً وفي السَقَامِ المتاحِ
A man of experience, I have lived in health
With much experience, I have long traversed health
For ages, and in illness that came my way.
And sickness accessible to all
غادِbreakfast on هذاthis الكَبابَkebab كُلَّevery صَبَاحٍmorning
غادِ هذا الكَبابَ كُلَّ صَبَاحٍ
مِنfrom مُتُونِthe backs الفَتِيَّةِthe young beasts السُّحَّاحِthe fat ones
مِن مُتُونِ الفَتِيَّةِ السُّحَّاحِ
Breakfast on this kebab every morning,
Drink this early morning cup
From the backs of fat young beasts.
From the texts of exuberant youth
فإذاthen when ماan emphatic particle عَطِشتَyou grow thirsty فاشرَبthen drink ثَلاثاًthree cups
فإذا ما عَطِشتَ فاشرَب ثَلاثاً
مِنof عَتِيقٍaged wine فيin الشَّمِّscent كالتُّفَّاحِlike apples
مِن عَتِيقٍ في الشَّمِّ كالتُّفَّاحِ
Then, when you grow thirsty, drink three cups
When thirsty, drink thrice
Of aged wine, like apples in scent.
Aged wine, fragrant as apples
ثُمَّthen عِندَat المَسَاءِthe evening فَاعكفthen devote yourself علىto ذاthis
ثُمَّ عِندَ المَسَاءِ فَاعكف على ذا
وعَلَىand to ذاthis بِأَعظَمِwith the largest الأقدَاحِgoblets
وعَلَى ذا بِأَعظَمِ الأقدَاحِ
Then, at evening, devote yourself to this,
Then in the evening, devote yourself
And to this, with the largest goblets.
To this and that, with cups most grand
فَتُقَوِّيso you strengthen ذاthat which has الضَّعفَweakness مِنكَin you وتُلفَىand you are found
فَتُقَوِّي ذا الضَّعفَ مِنكَ وتُلفَى
عَنafter لَيالٍnights أصَحَّthe healthiest هذِيthese الصِّحَاحِthe healthy ones
عَن لَيالٍ أصَحَّ هذِي الصِّحَاحِ
Thus you will strengthen what is weak in you, and be found,
Thus strengthening your weakness
After a few nights, the healthiest of these healthy folk.
And healed of nights most true to health
ذاthis شِفَاءٌa cure وَدَعand disregard مَقَالَةَthe words of هذاthis fellow
ذا شِفَاءٌ وَدَع مَقَالَةَ هذا
نَاكَmay ... fuck ذاthis fellow أُمَّهُhis mother بِأَيرِwith the cock of رَبَاحِRabah
نَاكَ ذا أُمَّهُ بِأَيرِ رَبَاحِ
