أَمَاLo وَرَبِّby the Lord of العَادِيَاتِthe running steeds ضَبحَاpanting
حَقّاًtruly وَرَبِّand by the Lord of المُورِياتِthose that kindle sparks قَدحَاby striking
Lo, by the Lord of the panting steeds,
By the Lord of the running horses at daybreak,
Truly, by the Lord of those that strike sparks,
panting, and by the lord of the striking fire by night,
إنَّindeed المُغِيراتِthose that raid عَلَيَّupon me صُبحاat dawn
والنَّاكِئَاتِand those that reopen wounds مِنfrom فُؤَاديmy heart قَرحَاa wound
Indeed, those that raid me at dawn,
surely these changers upon me at dawn
And those that reopen a wound in my heart,
and those waking me from my heart have wounded,
عَشرُten لَيَالٍnights بَينَهُنَّamong them صَبحَاa morning
يَجلُفنَthey strip away ماليmy wealth كُلَّevery عَامٍyear صَبحَاat dawn
Are ten nights, with a morning among them;
ten nights between them passed at dawn,
They strip away my wealth each year at dawn.
despoiling my wealth each year at dawn
