My people, the sons of Jumah, are a people who, when down sweeps
My people, tribe of Majmah, one day when
A gray host—you see coats of mail along its flanks—
Meteors unleash their fiery tails,
أَهْلُthose worthy of الْخِلَافَةِthe caliphate وَالْمُوفُونَand those who keep their word إِنْif وَعَدُواthey promise

Are worthy of the caliphate, and keep their word if they promise,
Rulers and the praised, if they convene
And face battle's terror, neither unarmed nor shieldless.
Witnesses and the sublime, unmatched, unveiled,
يَأْبَىrefuses لِيَfor me اللَّهُGod وَالْحَيَّانِand the two clans مِنْof جُمَحٍJumah

God and the two clans of Jumah refuse it for me—
Allah and the Living deny me not
One invoking Habib, and one invoking Khalaf for bounty.
A friend's farewell, or dew's swansong.
