Garlands of conquest that Time had stored away—
Necklaces of victory that Time had stored away,
when you resolved upon war, Victory brought them forth.
Then, when you resolved to campaign, Victory brought them forth.

Here they are, since your mounts set earnestly onward, springing forth
Here they are, coming forth since your mounts pressed on,
swiftly—for their joys embrace both even and odd.
Swiftly—their joys come in pairs and singly.

Take them, then, strung one after another—for how fiercely
Take them, strung in order—for how eagerly
land and sea raced each other in bringing them to you.
Land and sea have raced to bring them to you!

It is victory, my lord—of that there is no doubt;
It is victory, my lord; there is no doubt of it,
nor have the nights any excuse for delaying it.
Nor have the nights any excuse for its being unattainable.

Can there be doubt that morning is sure to dawn
Can there be doubt that the morning is dawning,
when darkness has ebbed and daybreak burst forth?
When darkness has ebbed and dawn has burst forth?

Captives of the Romans have come to you—and they are its least prize;
Roman captives have come to you—the least of your gains;
for captivity grazes upon slaughter’s leavings.
For capture finds its pasture in the remnants of slaughter.

Before today, its goal was not easily attained,
And before today, attaining them had not been easy,
but Islam rose as unbelief fell.
But Islam has risen as unbelief has fallen.

Day after day, you have never ceased to draw one stage closer
You kept drawing nearer, a further distance every day,
to them, while terror plunges into their souls.
Toward them, while terror plunged into their souls.

There had indeed been hardship in the course of things; but whenever
There was indeed hardship in affairs; then whenever
you drew near, ease came, and hardship lifted.
You drew near, ease persisted and hardship lifted.

By my life, through you God has brought a campaign to radiant fulfillment,
By my life, God has indeed made a campaign easy through you,
at which the frontier bared the smiling mouth of joy.
For which the frontier has smiled, revealing the mouth of joy,

And soon it was followed by campaign upon campaign,
Added to campaigns that have followed one another of late;
so every quarter has a drop from their clouds.
So in every region there is rain from their clouds.

This peninsula has become certain that it
This island has indeed become certain that it
will be mended by one whose strength cannot be broken.
Will be healed by one whose healing cannot be undone.

If security has died throughout its reaches,
If security had indeed died in its reaches,
the nearness of the Commander of the Faithful will raise it from the dead.
Then the nearness of the Commander of the Faithful is its resurrection.
