Someone said to me mockingly, not
He said to me, one who does not expect blame
expecting any reproach,
When he saw my hands constantly
إِذwhen رَأَىhe saw كَفِّيَmy hand دَأباًcontinually
إِذ رَأَى كَفِّيَ دَأباً
بِعَصَاهاwith its staff مُستَهامَهenamored
بِعَصَاها مُستَهامَه
when he saw my hand continually
With its staff supporting itself
enamored of its staff:
Will be mocked until the Day of Judgement
أَنتَyou وَاللَّهِby God صَحِيحٌin good health
أَنتَ وَاللَّهِ صَحِيحٌ

سَوفَ تَبقَى لِلقِيامَه
“You are, by God, in good health;
You, by Allah, speak the truth
you will live until the Resurrection.”
It will remain until the Resurrection

قَد شَكا الشَّيخُ السَّآمَه
I said, “Spare me such absurdity;
I said leave me from the impossible
the old man has already complained of weariness.
The old man has complained of weariness

وَجِدارِي بِدِعامَه
How can one hope that I will live on,
How can permanence be hoped for me
when my wall is held up by a prop?”
When my wall is with a pillar
