    O master, exalted in esteem

In breasts and eyes and hearts,

And you who are looked to for peace and war,

And for cleaving the ranks on the day of battle:

    مَرحَباً بِالإِيَابِ بَعدَ المَغِيبِ

    Welcome to your rising after setting;

Welcome to your return after absence.

How often we lamented parting from you, and prayed:

    May God reunite us soon!

So God graciously answered, and you returned,

And you healed our sickness with a physician.

So live in joy for all time,

In a fertile tract of time.

And congratulations on our festival, as it sings:

The festival lies only in meeting the beloved.
