Sol 6.1

  1. إن كانَ ما زَعَموا حقّاً كقولِهِم

    فَقَد سجَدتُ معَ الإفشينِ للصّنَمِ

    If what they claimed is true, as they say,

    Then I have prostrated myself with al-Afshin before the idol,

  2. وَبِعتُ منكُم بياضَ الصُبحِ مُتّسِقاً

    بسُدفَةٍ من ظلامِ اللّيلِ كَالفحَمِ

    And sold you the whiteness of dawn in its fullness

    For a patch of the night’s darkness, black as coal.
