بِعِيدِ السُّعُودِ وَخَفقِ البُنُودِ

بِعِيدِ السُّعُودِ وَخَفقِ البُنُودِ

وَقَودِ الجُنُودِ وَعِزِّ الدُّوَلِ

وَقَودِ الجُنُودِ وَعِزِّ الدُّوَلِ

With a festival of good fortune and fluttering banners,

With pride and fluttering flags unfurled,

and command of armies and the might of dynasties,

With troops and power and kingdoms' might,

غُلاَمٌ أَتَاكُم يَشُدُّ عُلاَكُم

غُلاَمٌ أَتَاكُم يَشُدُّ عُلاَكُم

بِبِيضِ الصُّفَاحِ وَسُمرِ الأَسَلِ

بِبِيضِ الصُّفَاحِ وَسُمرِ الأَسَلِ

a youth has come to you, strengthening your eminence

A youth has come to brace your world,

with gleaming sword blades and dusky spears.

With whitest dawn and blackest night.

يَهَشُّ إِلَيهِ سَرِيرُ الأَمِيرِ

يَهَشُّ إِلَيهِ سَرِيرُ الأَمِيرِ

وَصَدرُ النَّدِيّ إِذا مَا احتَفَلَ

وَصَدرُ النَّدِيّ إِذا مَا احتَفَلَ

The prince’s throne welcomes him joyfully,

To him the throne and prince incline

as does the assembly’s seat of honor when it gathers,

And elders' breasts when ceremonies throng.

بِأَمنٍ وَيمُنٍ وَدُنيَا وَدِينٍ

بِأَمنٍ وَيمُنٍ وَدُنيَا وَدِينٍ

بَنَجلس كَرِيمٍ وَمَجدٍ كَمُلَ

بَنَجلس كَرِيمٍ وَمَجدٍ كَمُلَ

with security and blessing, worldly life and faith,

With peace and right and world benign,

with a noble gathering [reading uncertain] and glory perfected,

A glorious reign, complete and long.

وَعيدٍ جَدِيدٍ وَظِلٍّ مَدِيدٍ

وَعيدٍ جَدِيدٍ وَظِلٍّ مَدِيدٍ

وَهَصرِ الأَمَانِي وَنَيلِ الأَمَلِ

وَهَصرِ الأَمَانِي وَنَيلِ الأَمَلِ

and a new festival and far-reaching shade,

With new days and shade that shall not fail,

and wishes bent within reach and hope attained.

Fruition of all hopes that hail The turning spheres where suns prevail,

أَقَامَ الزَّمَانُ بِهِ مَيلَهُ

أَقَامَ الزَّمَانُ بِهِ مَيلَهُ

وَحَلَّت بِهِ الشَّمسُ بُرجَ الحَمَلِ

وَحَلَّت بِهِ الشَّمسُ بُرجَ الحَمَلِ

Through him, Time has straightened its tilt,

Beneath the Ram, the Flocks, the Scales.

and through him the sun has entered the sign of Aries.
