The blossoms of the hills are servants; the rose is sovereign.

March and April had already decreed it so.

A secret the year's seasons concealed, envious

Of its excellence, for sovereignty and distinction are its own.

Until, when the cheerful spring disclosed it,

It appeared, and concealment had grown too narrow to house it,

Struggling to open the petals that enclosed it,

As a drowsy man struggles to open his eye.

Until it unfolded from the sleeves of its cloak,

    As eyelids open after sleep.

    واللَون حُسناً به الألوان تَزدان

    As for its scent, it is a perfume I cannot describe;

And its color lends beauty to all colors.

So among blossoms there is no king but the rose,

Nor is there a sovereign like Abu Ayyub.

A king who shows you the garden's swaying, followed by

Forbearance, from which Thamlan stands firm above the earth.
