وبناتٍand daughters للباقلاءِof the broad bean تَبَدَّتappeared
وبناتٍ للباقلاءِ تَبَدَّت
كعُيونٍlike eyes تفتَّحَتopened مِنfrom رُقادِslumber
كعُيونٍ تفتَّحَت مِن رُقادِ
And daughters of the broad bean appeared,
Girls blossomed for the farmer
Like eyes that opened from slumber;
Like eyes awaking from sleep
فَبَياضٌso whiteness مِنهاof them مكانَin the place of بياضٍwhiteness
فَبَياضٌ مِنها مكانَ بياضٍ
وسوادٌand blackness مِنهاof them مكانَin the place of سوادِblackness
وسوادٌ مِنها مكانَ سوادِ
So their white was in the place of white,
Some white where others white
And their black in the place of black.
And some black where others black
