لبني الغرب لقمة الاطماع

The East realized that today it had become

For the children of the west the morsel of ambitions

فاِستَوى فوق عرش همته الثم

اء مستَبسِلا لدى الاوجاع

So it ascended the throne of its lofty resolve,

So it was over the throne of his determination, the price

undaunted in the face of pain.

Surrendering to sorrows

لَيتَ ششعري ايرجع الشرق مدحو

را ام الغرب بعد هَذا النزاع

را ام الغرب بعد هَذا النزاع

Would that I knew: will the East return vanquished,

I wish my East would return praised

or the West, after this struggle?

Or the West after this conflict
