وَروح الفَتى في مَهده صوت أمه

كَما لقنوها كَيفَ تَنفخ بوقها

And the young man’s soul, in his cradle, is his mother’s voice,

The spirit of the youth in his cradle is his mother's voice

Just as they have taught her how to sound her trumpet.

Just as you taught her how to blow her trumpet,

As they taught her how to blow her horn

اذن علموها كَيفَ تخرج نشاة

ليوم عَصيب علموها حقوقها

ليوم عَصيب علموها حقوقها

Then teach her how to bring forth a generation

Then teach her how to raise a generation

So they taught her how to bring out vitality

For a day of hardship; teach her her rights.

For a trying day; teach her her rights.

For a difficult day they taught her her rights
