اياكbeware تكتبyou write ماwhat تفكرyou think اذfor بذاby this
اياك تكتب ما تفكر اذ بذا
تَسعىyou strive لحتفكtoward your death ايُّهاO you الحرthe free man الابيthe unbowed one
تَسعى لحتفك ايُّها الحر الابي
Beware of writing what you think, for by doing so
Beware what you write as you think thereby
you seek your own death, O free and unbowed man.
You hasten to your doom, O noble free man
قدindeed حرمواthey have forbidden عنكfrom you التبسمsmiling وَالبكاand weeping
قد حرموا عنك التبسم وَالبكا
لَمnot يَبقَremain إِلّاexcept أَنto تصليyou invoke blessings عَلىupon النَبيthe Prophet
لَم يَبقَ إِلّا أَن تصلي عَلى النَبي
They have forbidden you to smile or weep;
They have denied you smiling and weeping
nothing remains but to send blessings upon the Prophet.
Naught remains but to pray upon the Prophet
