هلwhether همthey علىtrue to العهدthe pledge ليto me باقينremaining
هل هم على العهد لي باقين
You say, "How are they after my departure?"
You ask how are they after me
Are they still true to their pledge to me?
Are they still faithful to the covenant with me
هلwhether همthey علىtrue to العهدthe pledge والودّand affection
هل هم على العهد والودّ

Are they faithful to the pledge and affection,
Are they still faithful to the covenant and affection
or have they put them out of mind over the long years?
Or have they forgotten it after many years

As for me, I have not betrayed my covenant
I remember them at every time and moment.
I remember them all the time

Never does lightning flicker from Najd
Whenever lightning flashed from Najd
without reminding me of those who have gone away.
It reminded me of the emigrants

And now this is all I know:
And now this is the extent of my knowledge

May God water them with the first autumn rains,
May Allah water them with rain
