بوصلthrough union محبوبthe beloved قلبthe heart ينطفيis quenched ذاthis الوقيدthe blaze
O master of the messengers, is there succor for the least of servants?
O Master of Messengers, does the Cave grieve for the lowliest slave
Through union with the heart's beloved, this blaze is quenched.
Who yearns to unite with his beloved though consumed by fire’s blade?
قدmay يجمعbring together اللَهGod منfrom بعدafter الإياسdespair البعيدlong-lasting
وكيفand how آيسdespairing وهوwhile He قادرable علىover ماwhat يريدHe wills
God may yet bring reunion after long despair.
God may join together after prolonged despair so far away
And how can I despair, when He has power over whatever He wills?
How despair when He’s able to do whatever He wills or makes?

ياO واديvalley الغيدthe graceful beauties ذيwho ماnot مثلهمlike them قطever غيدgraceful beauties
I vowed to hold a feast if I beheld ʿAydīd.
I've vowed to do thus when my Eid appears after absence and sorrow
O valley of graceful beauties, whom no beauties have ever matched.
O Valley of Joy where none can match such bountiful Eid tomorrows

مهلاgently منwith البعدthe separation مهلاgently ماthere is no علىbeyond ذاthis مزيدmore
Say to them, 'Will you not pity the lonely stranger?'
Tell them, "Do not shy from the lonely stranger left so bereaved"
Go gently with the separation, gently—nothing could exceed this.
Enough! From afar, enough! No more can be done, I believe

And my longing has never faded; rather, it is ever fresh,
Never did my longing for them cease, always fresh and revived
For ʿAydarūs of lofty honors, then Saʿd the blessed.
For Eidroos the Sublime, and then Sa'ad the Blissful arrived

وأنابهمand I, through them انif قصرfalls short جهديmy effort فيamong الناسthe people جيدworthy
How many foes they have destroyed for me—many a stubborn oppressor!
How many foes have destroyed me, Lord, so cruel and conceited!
And through them I am of worth among people, even if my efforts fall short.
Yet to them I'm kind, though my efforts for people are depleted

And every year they say, 'He has declined,' while I keep growing,
And each year they say, "It's nothing!" while I am incremented
With my Lord's help; and I close with the Guardian, the Praiseworthy.
With my Lord's help, and I conclude with the Guardian Most Glorified
صلواsend blessings علىupon أحمدAḥmad ومنand whoever صلىsends blessings علىupon أحمدAḥmad يفيدbenefits
Send blessings upon Aḥmad, and whoever sends blessings upon Aḥmad benefits.
Bless Ahmad, and whoever blesses Ahmad is gratified
