Had your two grandfathers witnessed how you won them justice
If your ancestors saw you, they'd not do you justice
against Shārib, his kin, and Ibn al-Nāṣir,
From a drinker and kinsmen and Ibn Nasser

To describe them, their harm disappeared
from an owl that troubles them among the graves.
From outstanding minds that pained them in cemeteries

Were it not for your determination, steadfast
and resolute, yielding to no counselor,
And resolved, they'd not care for advisors

Through praise of you, poetry has vanished, while resplendent have grown
With your praise, poetry perished and exhausted
the preacher’s sermons, mentioning you from pulpits.
Were the orators' sermons at the pulpits
