يا حبيبا نسيت به كلّ محبوب
مطلبيmy quest أنتyou ماnot بقيremained قطever مطلوبanything sought
مطلبي أنت ما بقي قط مطلوب
O beloved, through whom I have forgotten every beloved.
O beloved, you made me forget every loved one
You are my quest; nothing remains to be sought.
My only desire is you, nothing else is wanted
شكرgratitude داودDavid ليmine معwith صبرpatience أيوبJob
شكر داود لي مع صبر أيوب
فيكfor you ياO غايةultimate goal انتهاءend كلevery مرغوبdesired thing
فيك يا غاية انتهاء كل مرغوب
David's gratitude is mine, together with Job's patience,
Thanks be to David, with the patience of Job
for you, O ultimate end of all desire.
In you, O ultimate goal, ends every wish
ماwhatever خطرcomes to mind أوor خطرhas eminence منamong ملكan angel أوor بشرa human
ما خطر أو خطر من ملك أو بشر
وافتخرand boasts أوor فخرis glorious قاصرdeficient محتقرdespised
وافتخر أو فخر قاصر محتقر
Whatever comes to mind or has eminence, among angels or humans,
No idea from any king or mortal occurred
and boasts or is glorious, is deficient and despised.
Or pride or inferior pride I'm embarrassed of
فيin جماليmy beauty كلّall الجمالbeauty منهfrom him مجلوبdrawn
في جمالي كلّ الجمال منه مجلوب
هوhe جمالbeauty الجمالbeauty كسبيmy attainment وموهوبand bestowed
هو جمال الجمال كسبي وموهوب
In my beauty, all beauty is drawn from him.
In my beauty, all beauty is derived from Him
He is the beauty of beauty, my attainment and a gift bestowed.
He is the beauty of beauties, my gain and gift
ذاthis جمالa beauty لوif لمnot تجلاrevealed itself وجالاand roamed
ذا جمال لو لم تجلا وجالا
قطever ماnot سمىwas called الجمالbeauty جمالاbeauty
قط ما سمى الجمال جمالا
This is a beauty that, had it not revealed itself and roamed,
The beauty, if He did not show and shine
beauty would never have been called beauty.
Beauty would have never been called beautiful
قدindeed تسامىrose high جمالاin beauty بلnay تعالىrose higher
قد تسامى جمالا بل تعالى
جلّwas sublime بلnay عزّbecame precious قيمهits worth بلnay تغالاgrew ever dearer
جلّ بل عزّ قيمه بل تغالا
It has soared in beauty—nay, it has risen higher.
He transcended in beauty, no even excelled
It is sublime; nay, its worth is precious—nay, dearer still.
Majestic, mighty, valued, even most high
ذاthis خطيرeminent الخطيرthe eminent بلnay كثيرabundant الكثيرthe abundant
ذا خطير الخطير بل كثير الكثير
مالهhe has no منany نظيرequal قدindeed ثبتis established واشتهرand is well known
ماله من نظير قد ثبت واشتهر
This is eminence beyond eminence—nay, abundance beyond abundance.
The most fateful, no the oft fateful
He has no equal; this is established and well known.
None compares, it's proven and well-known
كلّevery حسنbeauty لكاملto the one perfect الحسنbeauty منسوبattributed
كلّ حسن لكامل الحسن منسوب
ذاكthat ربّlord الجمالbeauty والكّand all (probable reading) مربوبsubject to a lord
ذاك ربّ الجمال والكّ مربوب
All beauty is attributed to the one perfect in beauty.
Every beauty belongs to the perfect beauty
That is the lord of beauty, and [all] are subject to him.
He is the Lord of beauty, and all is His making
