إذا صفا يومك فليس تجزع

فذاك يوم السعود

If your day is clear, do not despair;

for that is a day of good fortune.

فامسك الماضي فليس يرجع

أصلا ولا عاد يعود

Hold on to the past, for it will not return,

at all, nor come back again.

عوّل على المولى ففضله أوسع

مدبرا للوجود

Rely on the Lord, for His bounty is vaster,

He who governs existence.

ولا يضرّك أحد وليس ينفع

إلا الوليّ الودود

And no one can harm you or bring you benefit,

except the Protector, the Loving One.

سلم لأمر المهيمن الجبار

فانه يختار ما يختار

Submit to the command of the Guardian, the Compeller,

for He chooses whatever He chooses.

فليس تدري بغاية الأقدار

أما غدا لم تدر ما سيصنع

For you do not know the ultimate outcome of fate.

As for tomorrow, you do not know what it will bring,

كالحامل الولود

إما حياة أو موت ذاك يرجع

like a pregnant woman, prolific in childbirth.

Whether life or death, that rests

لصادقي الوعود

فلا تموت حتى تحوز رزقك

with those true to their promises.

So you will not die until you receive your sustenance;

هذا على اليقين

ولا لمخلوق منوع حقك

this is certain.

Nor can any creature withhold your due,

في العالمين أجمعين

ففك هذا يا أسير رقك

in all the worlds.

So free yourself from this, O captive of your bondage—

من كيد هذا اللعين

فليس مقصوده سوى يرجع

from the guile of this accursed one.

For his only aim is to turn you back;

فاحذره انه حسود

فكن بوعد الإله واثق

so beware of him: he is envious.

So be confident in God's promise,

فاللَه فيما وعدك صادق

فخالف إبليس لا توافق

for God is true to what He promised you.

So oppose Iblis; do not agree with him,

فقد عصى ربه وقد ترفع

عن طاعته للسجود

for he disobeyed his Lord and was too proud

to obey Him by prostrating.

فاتبع لدين الهاشمي المشفع

غدا بجاهه تسود

So follow the faith of the Hashimite, the accepted intercessor;

tomorrow, through his standing, you will attain eminence.
