    لما رأت الاجمال

    Radiant Mukalla,

    When she saw the camels

  2. إلى ريام غاديه

    وحقق الترحال

    Heading for Riyam,

    And the departure was confirmed,

  3. استعبرت باكيه

    يا أشجع الأبطال

    Burst into tears, weeping:

    O bravest of heroes,

  4. تعود في عافيه

    على أكمل الأحوال

    May you return in good health,

    In the finest condition.

  5. تعود من السالمين

    لمكلة الأشجار

    May you return safe and sound

    To Mukalla of the trees,

  6. من كل كرم وتين

    وتحتها الأنهار

    Of every grapevine and fig tree,

    And rivers beneath them,

  7. وكل نبت حسين

    قد فتح الأزهار

    And every lovely plant

    Has opened its blossoms,

  8. سنين متواليه

    بالسعد والاقبال

    For years in succession,

    With good fortune and prosperity.

  9. يا أكرم الأكرمين

    احفظ لنا الظافر

    O most generous of the generous,

    Keep al-Zafir safe for us,

  10. واجعله في كل حين

    على العدا ظافر

    And make him, at every moment,

    Victorious over his enemies.

  11. واعضده بالصالحين

    وكن له ناصر

    And strengthen him with the righteous,

    And be his helper,

  12. في عيشة راضيه

    والملك له لا زال

    In a life of contentment,

    And may his kingship never cease.
