1. يا ظبي عيديد

    أنحلت جسمي بالبعاد وأضنيت

    O gazelle of ʿAydid,

    You have wasted my body through separation and worn me down.

  2. يا معسجد الجيد

    مضى زماني فرقة وتشتيت

    O you with the gold-adorned neck,

    My days have passed in parting and dispersal,

  3. في جفا وتنكيد

    متى الرضا ياليت لي ويا ليت

    In estrangement and distress.

    When will your favor come? If only it were mine—oh, if only!

  4. ما لغيركم حيد

    ولا تبدّلت وليس مليت

    I turn toward no one but you.

    I have not changed, nor have I grown weary.

  5. كامل المعاني

    ان لم تعجل باللقا فعدنا

    O you perfect in every quality,

    If you do not hasten our meeting, then promise us one,

  6. علّ بالأماني

    يحيى القليب الصادي المعنى

    Perhaps, through hopes,

    The thirsty, tormented little heart will live again.

  7. ما سواك ثاني

    ولا لغيرك يا حبيب قصدنا

    There is no other besides you,

    Nor have we sought anyone else, beloved.

  8. عشقتك بتأكيد

    ما خنتكم بل بالذمام أوفيت

    I have loved you without a doubt;

    I have not betrayed you; rather, I have been true to the pledge.

  9. يا إله أسالك

    أن لا تخيب يا كريم راجيك

    O God, I ask You

    Not to disappoint, O Generous One, the one who hopes in You,

  10. مرتجى نوالك

    وليس له حيلة سوى الرجا فيك

    Who longs for Your bounty

    And has no recourse but hope in You.

  11. قد عظم كمالك

    ولا كريم في العطا يدانيك

    Your perfection is indeed immense,

    And no generous giver rivals You in giving.

  12. يا جواد يا جيد

    كم جدت يا جزل النوال وأعطيت

    O Bountiful One, O Excellent One,

    How often You have been generous and given, O lavish Giver!

  13. كم كذا أعسى

    وقد فنى صبري وضاق جلدي

    How long shall I keep hoping like this?

    And now my patience is spent, and my endurance has worn thin.

  14. وقد عدمت أنسى

    من يوم غبتم يا أهيل ودّي

    And I have lost my solace,

    Since the day you left, O dear ones of my love.

  15. وصار غير جنسي

    أجانسه يا وحشتي وفقدي

    And one not of my kind has become

    The one whose company I keep—oh, my loneliness and loss!

  16. كم نصب وتشديد

    والقلب مني لا بحى ولا ميت

    How much weariness and hardship!

    And my heart is neither alive nor dead.

  17. يا لطيف لا طف

    ولا تؤاخذني بعظم جرمي

    O Gentle One, show kindness,

    And do not hold me to account for the enormity of my sin.

  18. كم لكم لطايف

    نزيل أوصا بي وكلّ همي

    How many are Your acts of kindness

    That dispel my pains and all my worry.

  19. ليس أنا بخائف

    وأنتم رجائي يا وسيع كرم

    I am not afraid,

    And You are my hope, O boundless in generosity.

  20. شاكرك فلي زيد

    واعطني سؤلي وما تمنيت

    I am grateful to You; grant me more,

    And give me what I ask and what I have wished for.

  21. ثم صلّ دائم

    على النبي المصطفى المكرّم

    Then send blessings forever

    Upon the chosen, honored Prophet,

  22. درّة آل هاشم

    لِلّه ما أكمل علاه وأعظم

    The pearl of the house of Hashim.

    God be praised—how perfect and great his exalted rank!

  23. حاوي المكارم

    يوم القيام الشافع المقدّم

    Possessor of noble virtues,

    On Resurrection Day, the foremost intercessor,

  24. وآله الصناديد

    هم آل بيت ما أجله بيت

    And upon his family, the valiant nobles—

    They are the household—what an exalted house!
