Discontent and miserliness are not in my nature or my character.

God knows my truthfulness in what I claim.

God is my guarantor in my affairs and in my sustenance.

So I have no need of silver or paper.

God is not given His due—how, then, could I be given mine?

I ask God's forgiveness in my silence and in my speech.

How many people have found happiness through me, by God's kindness!

Blessed is God—how many are happy, and how many wretched!

And I do not tire of forbearance and gentleness,

Whether your affection endures or not.
