وبنوand the sons of أميةUmayya ارذلthe vilest الأشرارthe wicked
وبنو أمية ارذل الأشرار
Indeed, the finest of humankind are Hashim.
The best of the wilderness are the Hashimites
And the sons of Umayya are the vilest of the wicked.
While the sons of Umayyah are the worst of villains

ولهاشمand for Hashim فيin المجدglory عودa stem نضارgold
ولهاشم في المجد عود نضار
And the sons of Umayya—their stem is of castor wood.
The rods of Umayyah are bent with humility
And Hashim, in glory, has a stem of gold.
While the Hashimites have rods of glory and vigor

As for those who call to the gardens of Paradise, they are Hashim.
The callers to Paradise are the Hashimites
And the sons of Umayya are among those who call to the Fire.
While the sons of Umayyah are callers to the Fire

And through Hashim the lands flourished and grew lush.
Through the Hashimites the lands were purified and quenched
And the sons of Umayya are like a flowing mirage.
While the sons of Umayyah are like a flowing mirage
