By your life, I, together with Abu Yazid,
I see a winged horse
am like one who hastens toward the gleam of a mirage.
Flying through the sky
رأيتI saw مخيلةa cloud promising rain فطمعتso I hoped فيهاin it
وفيand in الطمعgreed المذلةhumiliation للرقابfor the necks
I saw a cloud promising rain, so I put my hopes in it;
With grace and beauty, it soars up high
and in greed lies the abasement of necks.
Gliding on the winds, without a care
فماfor nothing أعياكhas wearied you منfrom طلبseeking ورزقand livelihood
كماas much as يعييكwearies you منfrom سرقstealing الدوابthe livestock
For nothing in the pursuit of livelihood has wearied you
Its flowing mane blows in the air
as much as stealing livestock wearies you.
A magical sight that lifts my heart
وأشهدand I testify أنthat مرةMurrah حيa tribe صدقٍof integrity
ولكنbut لستyou are not منهمof them فيin النصابlineage
And I testify that Murrah is a tribe of integrity,
This wondrous creature is a work of art
but you are not of their lineage.
