أشْهَدُ بِاللَّهِ وآلاَئِهِ

أشْهَدُ بِاللَّهِ وآلاَئِهِ

وَآلِ يَس وَآلِ الزُّمَرْ

وَآلِ يَس وَآلِ الزُّمَرْ

I bear witness by God and His bounties,

I bear witness by God and His bounties,

and by the House of Yā Sīn and the people of al-Zumar,

and the family of Ya-Sin and the family of al-Zumar,

أن عَلِي بْنَ أبي طَالِبٍ

أن عَلِي بْنَ أبي طَالِبٍ

بَعْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ خَيْرُ البَشَرْ

بَعْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ خَيْرُ البَشَرْ

that ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib,

that Ali ibn Abi Talib,

after God’s Messenger, is the best of humankind.

after the Messenger of God, is the best of humankind.

لَوْ يسمعوا قَوْلَ نَبِيّ الهُدى

لَوْ يسمعوا قَوْلَ نَبِيّ الهُدى

مَنْ حَادَ عَنْ حُبّ عليّ كَفَرْ

مَنْ حَادَ عَنْ حُبّ عليّ كَفَرْ

If only they would heed the words of the Prophet of Guidance:

If only they would hear the words of the Prophet of guidance:

“Whoever turns away from love of ʿAlī has disbelieved.”

“Whoever turns away from love of Ali has disbelieved.”
