The yellow wallflower, to my mind,

The bright-yellow one with me

is the most esteemed of wallflowers.

I raise his worth highly

For it withholds no fragrance,

For he does not prevent fragrance

and denies you no perfume.

And he does not protect you with perfume

مثل لون الذهب الخا

لص لكن فاق نشرا

Like pure gold in color,

Like the color of pure gold

yet surpassing it in fragrance.

But exceeded in circulation

وغدا يحكي اليواقي

ت إذا ما كان صفرا

And it has come to resemble sapphires,

And tomorrow he tells jewels

when yellow.

قارض اللَه أيادي

ه مطيلاً منه عمرا
