My tongue and my gaze are at odds in their love for you

Yet in essence they are in accord

My tongue yearns to journey so the world may hear

Your praise proclaimed in every place

While my gaze desires to remain focused on your beauty

For to it you are as generous as your nobility

My resolve is united in praising you

As my tongue saw fit in its love for you

May the verses reward you, for they are

Immortal, untouched by the stain of time

If after my death, it is said "This

Is the praise of so-and-so for the prince so-and-so"

Then grant me leave to freely journey

Unleashing praise while settled in place

For wherever you take me east or west

My aspirations, my purpose, my sights are set on you
