Sol 6.1

  1. أتيتك جذلانَ مستبشراً

    لبُشراك لما أتاني الخبرْ

    I came to you joyful, rejoicing

    at your good tidings when the news reached me.

  2. أتاني البشيرُ بأن قد رُزقتَ

    غلاماً فأبهجني ما ذكرْ

    The bearer of glad tidings came to me, saying you had been granted

    a son; what he related gladdened me.

  3. وأنك والرشدُ فما فعل

    ت أسميته باسم خير البشرْ

    And that you—with sound judgment in what you did—

    named him after the best of humankind.

  4. وطهَرته يوم أسبوعه

    ومن قبلُ في الذكر ما قد طَهُرْ

    And purified him on his seventh day,

    though even before, he had already been pure in repute.

  5. فعمّرك الله حتى ترا

    ه قد قارب الخَطْوَ منه الكِبَرْ

    So may God prolong your life until you see

    him, his stride shortened by old age.

  6. وحتى ترى حوله من بنيهِ

    وإخوته وبنيهم زُمَرْ

    And until you see around him his sons,

    and his brothers and their sons, in throngs.

  7. وحتى يروم الأمور الجسامَ

    ويُرْجى لنفع ويُخشى لضَرْ

    And until he seeks great undertakings,

    and is looked to for benefit and feared for harm.

  8. وأوزعك اللهُ شكر العطاء

    فإن المزيد لعبد شكرْ

    And may God inspire you to give thanks for the gift,

    for increased bounty belongs to a servant who gives thanks.

  9. وصلَّى على السَّلفِ الصالحي

    ن منكم وبارَك فيمن غبرْ

    And may He bless the righteous forebears

    among you, and bless those who remain.
