على الدهر والكنوزُ عواري
Reap gratitude—for it is your treasure that endures
And gain gratitude, for it is your enduring treasure
through the ages, while treasures are merely loans.
throughout time, while treasures are but loans.

And I see that gratitude journeys only
And I see that gratitude does not travel except
with a guiding guide from poetry.
with a guiding escort of verse.

Likewise, arrows cannot attain
And likewise, arrows do not exact
the vengeance due unless they fly from bowstrings.
vengeance unless they fly from bowstrings.

A wing bare of feathers is powerless;
And a wing bare of feathers is feeble;
once feathered, it soars through every realm of flight.
then, once it grows feathers, it flies far and wide.
