قل لوهب البغيض يا وَخِشَ الخل

قة يا ناطقاً بغير لسانِ
Say to loathsome Wahb: O foul of
Say to Wahhab the hateful, O timid one
form, O speaker without a tongue!
O you who speak with a tongue not your own
كانتْwas الضرطةthe fart المشومةill-omened ناراًa fire
كانتْ الضرطة المشومة ناراً
أضرمتwas kindled فيin جوانبthe reaches of البلدانِthe lands
أضرمت في جوانب البلدانِ
The ill-omened fart was a fire
The notorious police were a fire
Kindled in the reaches of the lands.
That blazed on the sides of the cities
قتلتit killed مفلْحاًMuflih وكانand he was لعمريby my life
قتلت مفلْحاً وكان لعمري
عُدَّةًa mainstay فيin الحروبwars للسلطانfor the sultan
عُدَّةً في الحروب للسلطان
It killed Muflih, who was, by my life,
They killed a tiller, who in my life
A mainstay for the sultan in war.
