تَعِزُّgain honor بماthrough what حازتهthey have gained it منهfrom him وتشمخُand rise high
Receive from me praises of God's Messenger,
Take from me praises of Allah's Messenger
Which gain honor and rise high through what they have received from him.
That glorify what he attained and tower high
خلتhas become free فكرتيmy thought منof نظمversifying أوصافthe qualities of غيرهanyone other than him
وليand I have منطقٌspeech بالطيبwith perfume منهfrom him مُضمَّخُsteeped
My mind is free of versifying the qualities of anyone but him,
My thoughts are empty of describing anyone but him
And mine is speech steeped in perfume from him.
And my words about him are steeped in goodness
خسرتُI lost زماناًtime لمdid not أقلutter فيهduring it مدحهhis praise
فعَقدُso the covenant of التزاميmy commitment مدحهُto praising him ليسُis not يُفسَخُannulled
I lost time in which I did not utter his praise,
I wasted time not praising him
So the covenant of my commitment to praising him shall not be broken.
So my covenant to praise him cannot be undone
خصمتI overcame ذنوباsins اثقلتthat burdened كاهليmy shoulders بماthrough what

أُحَرِّرُهI compose it منof مدحهhis praise حينwhen تُنسخُthey are effaced
I overcame sins that weighed upon my shoulders through what
I accumulated sins that burdened my shoulders
I compose in his praise, as those sins are effaced.
But praising him absolves me when transcribed
خضوعيmy submission لخوفin fear of اللَهGod أضحىhas become مكفراan atonement for
لياليnights فيهاduring which كنتI used to بالجهلin ignorance أبذخact arrogantly
My submission in fear of God has become an atonement
My submission to fearing Allah has become
For nights when, in ignorance, I acted arrogantly.
Atonement for nights of ignorant sin
خفارتُهhis protection للمذنبينfor sinners معدّةٌprepared
اذاwhen قامrises إسرافيلIsrafil فيinto الصُّورthe Trumpet يَنفَخُblows
His protection stands ready for sinners
His intercession for sinners is prepared
When Israfil rises to blow into the Trumpet.
When Israfil blows the trumpet raised high
خذtake الأمنsafety منهُfrom him إذwhen توافيهِyou come to him مُسلماًas a Muslim
فلاso neither القلبُthe heart مرتاعٌfrightened ولاnor العينُthe eye تنضَخُstreams with tears
Take safety from him when you come to him as a Muslim;
Take security from him if you greet him as Muslim
Then neither is the heart afraid nor does the eye stream with tears.
Neither is the heart anxious nor does the eye weep
خلعتُI cast off عذاريmy bridle فيin الصِّباyouth بجهَالتيthrough my ignorance
ولكنَّbut رَوعيmy fear بالشَّفاعَةthrough intercession يُفرِخُsubsides
I cast off my bridle in youth through my ignorance,
I cast off my virtue in youth foolishly
But my fear subsides through intercession.
But my alarm is soothed by his intercession
خمائلُlush groves زَهرِof blossoms الروضِof the garden دُونfall short of صفاتِهِhis qualities

The garden's flowering groves fall short of his qualities,
Garden flowers compared to his attributes
As narrators have recounted and chronicled about him.
Are as narrators related and chronicled
خبتdied out نارُthe fire of كسرىKisra إذاwhen بَدَاappeared نُوراthe two lights of أحمدٍAhmad

Kisra's fire died out when Ahmad's two lights appeared,
The fire of Chosroes dims when Ahmed's light appears
And dawn's light has never ceased to efface the night.
And the light of dawn never ceases to erase the night
