قي على الأرض شرَابا

قي على الأرض شرَابا

I said, when the cupbearer poured

I said, when the potter poured wet clay on the ground

wine upon the ground,

Out of jealousy over it

غيرةً مني عليه

غيرةً مني عليه

ليتَني كنتُ تُرابَا

ليتَني كنتُ تُرابَا

out of my jealousy over it:

If only I were dust
