My longing for the Prophet Muhammad summoned me,
So I answered it when it called me, despite the distance.

Who, then, could grant that I might rub my cheek in his dust?

Muhammad's companions are the brilliant stars of the horizon's sky,
And his countenance is like the full moon at an auspicious rising.

On the night of the Night Journey, he drew near his Lord's throne.
What a Lord so near—and what a servant!

And He has kept despair from him since he was in the cradle.
